Palm Heights - Grand Cayman
Palm Heights, Grand Cayman
Why Palm Heights Keeps Us Coming Back Year After Year
We’ve been visiting Palm Heights since shortly after they opened — at least once a year, sometimes more — and every trip reminds us why this place feels like a second home. It’s one of those rare hotels that somehow gets better each time, where the staff remembers you, the energy is effortless, and the days unfold exactly the way you want them to.
The Welcome That Never Gets Old
The moment we arrive, Frank is at the front with the warmest greeting. He’s one of those people who sets the tone for your entire stay — kind, genuine, and somehow always exactly where you need him. The hospitality feels personal, never performative. You’re welcomed into the lounge with a complimentary drink, and instantly, the pace of life shifts.
The rooms at Palm Heights are one of the property’s greatest strengths — just 52 suites, each one spacious, thoughtfully designed, and filled with the kind of details that make you instantly exhale. Every suite feels residential rather than hotel‑like, with generous living areas, plush bedding, and balconies or terraces that make it easy to settle in for days. The design is airy and modern with warm, nostalgic touches, and the layouts give couples, or groups plenty of room to spread out. It’s the kind of space you look forward to returning to at the end of the day — comfortable, stylish, and unmistakably Palm Heights.
A Gym and Spa Worth Traveling For
The gym and spa — known as The Garden Club — could stand alone as a destination. It’s that good. The equipment, the programming, the energy — everything feels intentional. We love the Pilates classes, which are challenging in the best way, and the trainers somehow make every session feel custom. The fitness schedule is usually published on Sundays, so sign up early because classes fill quickly.
A massage or spa treatment is a must. The therapists are top‑notch, and the Garden Club itself feels like a magical jungle escape, with plunge pools, saunas, and quiet corners tucked into lush greenery. It’s the perfect balance to long beach days and late dinners.
Boat Days Done Right
One of our favorite traditions is renting a boat for a day — every single trip — to visit the stingrays and turtles. Stop by the front desk on your way out and they’ll send you off with fresh towels and water. Visiting Stingray city and snorkeling with the reef fish - It’s one of those experiences that never gets old, no matter how many times we’ve done it.
Little Luxuries That Make a Big Difference
The staff near the beach is magic. They always seem to appear with something fun — popsicles, pineapple with Tajín, cold towels, little treats that make the day feel special. It’s thoughtful without being fussy, and it’s one of the reasons the beach at Palm Heights is our favorite place to be. You can also drift into the ocean with your drink and find one of their floating rafts, paddle boats or paddle boards.
We order lunch on the beach most days — everything on the menu is delicious, from sushi to Mediterranean dishes. The Shrimp Peri Peri bowl with grilled pineapple is a repeat favorite.
Food That Keeps Us On Property
One of the reasons we hardly ever leave the property is simple: the food is incredible. Dinner at Tillie’s is always a highlight — truly, everything we’ve ever ordered has been delicious. The atmosphere, the service, the menu — it all feels elevated without trying too hard.
Mornings start with coffee and breakfast at one of the tables right on the beach. In the evenings, we love sitting inside or near the bar, where the energy is vibrant and warm. Palm Heights makes it very easy to stay put.
Our One Off‑Property Favorite
The only place we consistently leave the hotel for is Ms. Piper’s — just a short cab ride away. It’s charming, beautifully designed, and always worth the outing. But even then, we’re excited to get back to Palm Heights afterward.
Where We Dance
And then there’s Mambo Italiano. We don’t go on Mambo Italiano night for dinner — we save that for another evening — but we always go for the Saturday night karaoke party. It’s iconic, energetic, and exactly the kind of night Palm Heights is known for.
The Best Hour of the Day
Every evening from 5–6pm, Palm Heights hosts a free happy hour, and it’s one of our favorite rituals. It’s relaxed, social, and the perfect way to ease into the night.
Palm Heights is the kind of place that becomes part of your story — a hotel you return to not just because it’s beautiful, but because it feels like you. After years of visiting, it’s still our favorite escape, and we already can’t wait for the next trip.
